Our Tour Guides

The Community Baboon Sanctuary tour guides are all locals to the Sanctuary and have been life long members of the participating communities. Each guide has been trained through the Belize “National Tour Guide Training Program” and has extensive knowledge of the Sanctuary’s flora and fauna.

When you take a tour at the Community Baboon Sanctuary, you’re choosing more than an adventure—you’re supporting community-based conservation. Our sanctuary is run by the Community Baboon Sanctuary Women’s Conservation Group, a local non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the Belize River Valley’s wildlife and culture. Every tour directly contributes to conservation projects and community development, helping preserve Belize’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Looking to canoe or kayak while visiting Belize? At the Community Baboon Sanctuary, you can embark on a trip through history and travel down the Belize River. You will do as our ancestors and the Maya people did often as they moved from the coast to inland Belize.

The Kriol Experience

The Kriol Experience is a wonderful opportunity to be immersed in the vibrant and welcoming culture of Belize. Our community puts together a series of cultural presentations which include daily tasks and activities of our culture such as rice beating and fanning, cashew seed roasting, and more.
